"You have to really want it." — Chris Manley Chris is a graduate of the FIRST at Blue Ridge long-term recovery curriculum, and a former Learning-To-Lead LLC vocational trainee. He now works full-time at Atlas Precision, Inc on their production team — and was recently promoted to Lead Operator. After we took this photo, Ellen Steele, SPHR, SHRM-SCP congratulated Chris on his achievements and asked how he made it through the one-year recovery journey at FIRST at Blue Ridge. Kit Roberts, NBC-HWC spoke about her personal story in a presentation called "Moments That Matter" at the Recovery Friendly Workplace Summit at Blue Ridge Community College this week. At the end of her talk, she posed an important question to the audience — "Whose recovery story can you be a part of?" The reason we think this question is important is because recovery from substance use disorder is not easy, but the opportunities that wait on the other side can bring a lot of joy if we surround ourselves with thoughtful and supportive people.
